In response to the global call for sustainable development over the next 30 years, leading economies worldwide are collaborating with various stakeholders to innovate energy and resource utilization while transitioning to non-fossil fuel-based energy production. This transition poses unique challenges, particularly for regions like Stara Zagora, prompting SZ REDA to spearhead efforts in finding viable solutions.
Founded 28 years ago by the Municipality of Stara Zagora, Thrace University, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, SZ REDA has undertaken a pivotal role as a leading partner in an international consortium within the EU – the De Carb project. This initiative aims to develop and share effective models and practices for the transition to a carbon-neutral economy.
The Social Policy Dialogue, born out of the successful 5-year project “Social Dialogue for Public Policies: New Energy Mix,” will focus on the experiences and lessons learned in the preparation and implementation of Territorial Plans for a Just Transition (TPSP) by international partners. This event follows the 8th meeting of the Coal Regions in Transition Platform and the EU Hydrogen Week, where SZ REDA actively participated.
Mayors of municipalities, representatives from business organizations, and various institutions have been invited to join the dialogue. International partners will share their insights, shedding light on successful strategies for transitioning to a low-carbon economy.
The event serves as a platform for the presentation of good practices discussed during the Coal Regions in Transition Platform meeting, which are deemed relevant to the development of the Stara Zagora region. The occasion aims to facilitate further collaboration and knowledge exchange among stakeholders.
